Premier Music Group Acquires Search Party Inc.

Premier Music Group, a leading music agency — a big part of its business is creating music assets for brands and advertising — has acquired Search Party Inc., a music supervision company that also works with advertisers.

Premiere was formed in 2017 by Downtown Music co-founders Josh Deutsch and Terence Lam. Search Party was formed in 2004 by Randall Poster.

The deal will consolidate the two companies into Premier, with Poster serving as Premier's Creative Director.

Deutsch (no relation to Donny) has been friends with Poster since childhood growing up in New York City. They even went to the same university (Brown).

In 2019, Deutsch acquired boutique music supervision firm Wool & Tusk to bolster Premier’s supervision and licensing business. The integration of Search Party bolsters the agency’s access to creative talent for its clients in the fields of advertising, film, TV and other media.

And the agency says it is now well-positioned to offer large-scale solutions to its creative partners, as the company increases its original music production and supervision capabilities and expands into new advertising segments, podcasts and new social and digital platforms, with a focus on music-driven content.
