True Independent Holdings Acquires St. Louis Media Agency Dicom

True Independent Holdings, parent company of flagship media agency True Media, is acquiring 30-year-old St. Louis-based media agency Dicom for an undisclosed sum. The deal is expected to close Jan. 31.

Effective February 1, the Dicom team will join True Media and relocate to the agency’s St. Louis office, bringing True Media’s headcount to over 175 media strategists, planners, analysts and buyers across offices Columbia, Kansas City, and St. Louis, all in Missouri, as well as outposts in offices in Minneapolis, Toronto and Calgary.

DICOM co-founders Jim Steward and Dave Travers will join the True Media leadership team. True Independent Holdings is overseen by CEO Jack Miller.

Dicom is the third agency purchased by True Independent Holdings as part of a strategy to grow an integrated group of specialty agencies offering media strategy, programmatic, analytics and buying services to clients in finance, healthcare, tourism, agriculture, retail, and CPG.

Other agencies in the group include digital programmatic agency Coegi, and data analytics specialty agency RADaR.

In addition to serving clients directly Dicom partners with full-service, creative, PR and other media agencies to provide services for managing data and budgets, targeting audiences and other capabilities. It also does media audits.
