Infillion, a word meaning "an unspecified number of" something, is the new name of the company created by the merger of ad-tech firms Gimbal and true[X].
The rebranding follows
Gimbal's acquisition of true[X] in September 2021, and the combined company now
touts itself as "the leader in CTV and location technology."
"Infillion means an unspecified number to some," reads its about page, noting, "But to us, it means the boundaryless opportunity
to go beyond."
The page goes on to note, "The fact that we build technology for a complex and fragmented industry doesn’t justify jargon."
Gimbal -- a Los Angeles-based
advertising and marketing technology company, known for utilizing so-called “beacons” technologies to help marketers target and serve ads to consumers at point-of-purchase and other
physical locations -- more than doubled its organization with the acquisition of True[x], a company founded by former MediaPost columnist Joe Marchese and his partner David Levy, which was sold to Fox and then to Disney before it was divested.
