Microsoft-owned business and employment-focused social platform LinkedIn is adding a new ChatGPT-powered tool Premium subscribers can access to create personalized writing suggestions for sections of their LinkedIn profile, as well as other AI integrations.
LinkedIn Premium subscribers now have the option to “Enhance” their profile via AI-drafted options for the Headline and About sections based on information they have already entered and samples from millions of user entries logged in the system.
As more users begin using OpenAI’s generative AI technology to help them create their LinkedIn profiles, it is uncertain as to whether the drafted responses will help them stand out to future employers or not, as more profiles may begin to look similar.
LinkedIn has also announced a new AI-powered job description tool designed to make it faster for employers to write job descriptions.
“When you’re ready to post a job, simply provide some basic information, including the job title and company name,” LinkedIn wrote in a recent statement. “Our tool will then generate a suggested job description for you to review and edit.”
The company says it is an attempt to streamline the hiring process, while also giving employers the ability to customize whatever the AI creates.
In addition, LinkedIn is launching new LinkedIn Learning courses to help interested users develop their AI skills in order to boost productivity and accelerate career growth. Over 100 AI courses will be available to Premium subscribers until June 15th, along with 20 additional courses taught by AI leaders, the company says.
