SoundCloud Renews AdsWizz Agreement, Expands To 14 European Markets

After renewing an ad sales agreement with SXM Media in February, SoundCloud –– the German music streaming service popular among Gen Z audiences –– is renewing its exclusive agreement with audio-advertising platform AdsWizz to 14 European countries.

AdsWizz -- a subsidiary of SiriusXM -- and its regional sellers will now be able to sell SoundCloud’s audio advertising inventory in Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands through 2024.

Since 2021, SoundCloud’s inventory has more than doubled, according to a recent company statement.

The renewed agreement will continue to leverage AdsWizz's programmatic marketplace and other innovative ad-tech solutions, according to the SoundCloud.

SoundCloud has also adopted AdsWizz’s SDK, an ad-technology solution designed to power data-driven advertising capabilities and interactive ad formats including “ShakeMe,” which invites listeners to engage with an ad by shaking their phone.

Brieuc Verwilghen, AdsWizz vice president and head of commercial partnerships and strategy, says SoundCloud’s adoption of additional AdsWizz ad technology in the past two years provides further opportunities for brands to access data and advertising formats across streaming and video platforms.

According to a past statement from SXM Media –– the combined sales group of SiriusXM –– SoundCloud is in a unique position as a platform to connect artists and fans directly, with 40 million artists and 130 million users -- and eighty percent of these users identify as Gen Z or Millennials.

Advertisers can access SoundCloud's ad inventory through any major demand-side platform (DSP), including AdsWizz's DSP, AudioMatic, through direct IO buys, or through the the AdsWizz Marketplace.
