Giant Spoon Conceives Giant Ball For AT&T

When it comes to creating engaging IRL experiences for its clients, award-winning creative media shop Giant Spoon regularly demonstrates it has balls. In its latest installation for AT&T's NBA playoffs tie-in, it has lots of them. And it's giving them away.

Dubbed the "Game Ball Experience," the agency created a 20-foot-tall custom basketball-dispensing machine dispersing an array of prizes including NBA game tickets, $5,000 in cash or one of 1,500-plus basketballs, including AT&T "Game Ball" branded ones touting the telecommunications brand's 5G service.

AT&T wireless customers will be invited to the two day pop-up event, which runs Friday and Saturday at Los Angeles' Park at the Grove outdoor shopping center.

AT&T customers entering the installation can scan a QR code triggering the machine to "shoot out" one of the custom basketballs, which also include special edition "L.A. city balls," as well as a signed NBA ball from the Los Angeles Clippers' Paul George, signed balls from NBA Hall of Fame stars, and others.

Each of the balls represents a prize category, including some that unlock additional prices such as limited edition merchandise, Google Pixel phones or $5,000 in cash.

The agency plans other similar events throughout 2023, including another two-day "Game Ball Experience" April 28-29 at Bayside Market in Miami Beach for Miami Heat fans.
