TikTok has joined forces with California-based creator
commerce platform Amaze Software. Inc. to bring new revenue streams to its short-video social network by inviting Amaze users to sell directly to their followers in TikTok Shop.
“Creators now have the ability to curate, showcase, and sell their own products” in hopes of converting their fan base into loyal customers, Amaze wrote in a press release,
adding that creators have the option to “monetize their TikTok videos, engage fans through livestreams, and create captivating shopping experiences.”
Amaze, which is the parent
company of ecommerce pioneer Spring and creator economy firm Outfits, said that it will handle all of the logistics of fan payments, shipping and inventory management.
Amaze has integrated its
platform with YouTube, Instagram, Twitch and now TikTok with a goal of making it easier for creators to “create, share, and earn,” according to Amaze CEO Aaron Day.
While the
ByteDance-owned app has made an ongoing effort to popularize live shopping in the West, the feature has not yet taken off the way it has in Asia. While still facing a potential ban in the U.S., TikTok
has attempted to attract more U.S. creators to live shopping on its platform with continuous brand-activations and live-shopping tools.
Amaze’s TikTok
integration is currently available for select users. Interested creators can add their name to a mailing list.
