Roku Signs 1st Live-Sports Deal, For Formula E Races

Roku has signed its first live-sports deal, for the U.S. streaming rights to Formula E, the all-electric ABB FIA World Championship motorsports series.

Starting next season, 11 races in the series will be available on The Roku Channel, Roku’s free, ad-supported streaming service (FAST). They will also be accessible through the Sports Experience on Roku’s home screen.

Under the multi-year deal, Paramount+ and CBS Sports — which are already integrated into the Roku platform — will continue to air some Formula E races. Starting in January 2024, five of the races will air live on CBS and be simulcast on Paramount+.

Beyond live races, Roku's Sports Experience will also offer content including replays of all Formula E races (including the ones airing on CBS/Paramount+), Formula E library content, the racing league’s docu-follow series “Unplugged,” and race previews and highlights.
