AT&T is launching a contest for women-owned small
businesses that features women athletes, some of whom are also small-business owners and entrepreneurs.
The winner will receive $20,000 and a year of AT&T service with a new
device and will be featured in their own “She’s Connected by AT&T” episode.
Consumers can nominate themselves or others online.
The campaign for the contest features two WNBA players: A’ja Wilson, founder of Burnt Wax
and Arike Ogunbowale, an investor in Just Women’s Sports. The effort also features two U.S. Soccer Women’s National Team players: Kelley O’Hara, co-founder of Beat Everybody and
Mallory Swanson.
Since 2020, the content series has been spotlighting the inspiring stories of the world’s best athletes. This year, AT&T aims to inspire and invest
in a broader community of women entrepreneurs.

The first video features A’ja WIlson, who works alongside her mother, shows how
connectivity enables the Wilsons to run a successful family business while living in two different cities, using the power of technology and love, to maintain the efficiency, quality and success of
their brand.
Other upcoming She’s Connected by AT&T episodes will focus on the power of community, connection, and mentorship.
AT&T,
the Official 5G Innovation Partner of the NBA and WNBA, is also planning some unique tech innovations featuring augmented reality at the upcoming WNBA All-Star experience, July 14 and 15.
Attendees can immerse themselves in AT&T’s unique tech activations like the Robot Nail Stations for customized game and athlete-inspired nails or try on
Wilson and Ogunbowale’s favorite outfits using augmented reality apparel mirrors.
AT&T first brought AR experiences to fans in 2021, when it
introduced AT&T 5G Game View, a feature within the WNBA app that unlocks a unique way to view live and previous game stats during games, customized by each fan and experienced in augmented
reality.
