Peacock Raises Prices For The First Time Since 2020 Launch

Following in the footsteps of other premium CTV platforms, NBCUniversal's Peacock streaming platform is raising its prices for all its options -- the first price hike since it debuted in 2020.

The price for Peacock Premium will be raised to $5.99 a month (up from $4.99), and Peacock Premium+, its advertising-free top programming option, will increase to $11.99 (from $9.99).

The new pricing begins next month.

Peacock has 22 million subscribers as of the end of 2022, up 60% from the previous year.

The price increase comes as all other major streamers have hiked their prices -- Disney+, Paramount+, and Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max.

Most streamers continue to be hit with anywhere from $1 billion to $3 billion in annual net losses.

The most recent price hike came with Max, as part of its rebrand from the former HBO Max.

Now Max is one priciest advertising-free subscription services at $19.99 a month. The previous HBO Max ad-free plan, which was similar, was priced at $15.99 a month.

WBD said the new Max plan -- called the “Ultimate Ad-Free” service -- expands its content by more than 1,000 films and TV episodes in 4K UHD.
