OMD Taps Amazon's Hobba As Chief Media Officer

"I am very excited to be back at OMD again," Suhaila Hobba wrote in her LinkedIn profile after the Omnicom Media unit named her Chief Media Officer, reporting to Chrissie Hanson, CEO, OMD USA."

She fills a role that has been vacant since George Manas was promoted to global CEO of OMD two years ago.

Hobba, who previously served as East Coast Director of Digital at OMD between 2005 and 2008, rejoins the agency from Amazon where she was global head of digital for the past year.

She joined Amazon following an eight-year stint as global head of agency partnerships for IPG, and previously held senior positions at IPG Mediabrands' Initiative, Publicis Media's Spark Foundry, GroupM's Mediacom, and others.

"I will be overseeing the agency's holistic media practice -- bringing together strategy, planning, investment, activation and measurement through a performance marketing mental model that will accelerate business growth for clients and OMD," she said.
