L’Oréal International Distribution has tapped GroupM's Wavemaker to handle media planning and buying for EMEA. The new contract begins in September and spans three years.
Billings were not disclosed, but the appointment follows a six-month review handled by Ebiquity.
Significantly, Wavemaker noted that the win includes "Amazon activity," a nod to the fact that parent GroupM is vying with Omnicom on a separate pitch to consolidate Amazon's media account.
"Wavemaker won the business in a final competition against OMD," the agency said in a statement, adding: "The win means a further expansion of the L’Oréal-Wavemaker partnership which includes 30+ markets across the world."
