After announcing plans to redesign and expand its “Live Subscription” offering to non-Live creators, TikTok is now beginning to roll out the Patreon-like “Subscription” monetization platform to eligible creators in new regions, including the U.S.
Like Instagram Subscriptions, YouTube’s channel memberships -- or Patreon, a monetization platform popular among creators and artists trying to build and retain personal fanbases -- TikTok’s Subscription offering allows people to share exclusive content with paying subscribers while giving users access to additional content and perks.
Regular creators are now able to make use of the platform, offering their subscribers three distinct tiers at three different prices with various levels of perks and exclusive access to content including videos, Lives, notes, unique stickers and badges, and additional communication channels like Sub Space, a space for creators to chat directly with their subscribers.

TikTok says creators can also provide followers with customized offerings, such as performance requests, Discord roles, shoutouts and Live topics.
By inviting more creators to offer their followers' premium experiences, TikTok believes they will have a better opportunity to strengthen their community while increasing their monthly revenue on the app.
TikTok says it is expanding the redesigned creator monetization platform to eligible creators across Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, the UK, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and the U.S., with plans to announce more markets in the coming weeks.
Creators must be at least 18 years old to access the redesigned Subscription offering. They must also have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the past calendar month.
