Mazda is partnering with Prime Video on a six-part video series that offers an inside look at motorsports.
“First To The Finish” focuses on the 2024 MX-5 Cup Championship season. Two standout female drivers and a dedicated female team owner are featured as they navigate the challenges of racing at the highest level.
By showcasing the journeys of women drivers and team owners, Mazda aims to empower the next generation of motorsport talent, challenging expectations and supporting those who break new ground in the sport, according to the automaker.
The series is produced by Boardwalk Pictures and directed by Annetta Marion Racing team owner Shea Holbrook. It premieres on March 25.
For many of the drivers in the MX-5 Cup, the series marks their first real test as professionals after years of dominating amateur ranks. This shift is often humbling, providing the chance to prove their abilities at the highest level, according to the automaker.

The MX-5 Cup Championship predominantly features younger drivers looking to prove themselves, said Brad Audet, Mazda North American Operations, chief marketing officer.
“Mazda believes in the power of human potential and supports those who choose to pursue what makes them happy rather than just simply move through life,” Audet says in a release. “This series demonstrates the potential these young drivers have and what it looks like when it’s transformed into action.”
“First To The Finish” will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the stories of key players within the MX5 Cup Championship—a racing series which has seen tens of drivers progress into elevated pro drivers’ seats over its history.
The series will cover the key players’ preparation for each race, the thrills of the Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship, as well as in-depth interviews with drivers, pit crews, coaches, owners and family members.
The series captures thrilling races at some of North America’s most iconic tracks, including Daytona and Sebring. Known for their fast-paced action and nail-biting finishes, these venues provide the perfect backdrop for the drama of the MX-5 Cup.
