Travel South Dakota has launched “
Unexpected South Dakota,” a three-episode series that showcases the state's 77,000 square miles of lakes, outdoor
activities and historic sites.
The organization partnered with TV host-biologist Forrest Galante and Jeep. The goal is to highlight South Dakota's heritage and natural wonders. Visitors can see
the state in new, unexpected ways.

The Karsh Hagan ad agency coordinated contracts and deliverables, while Matador Network produced the videos and digital assets.
In the series,
Galante visits Marcela Salas, owner of BibiSol in Sioux Falls and a James Beard-nominated culinary artist. He also journeys into the heart of South Dakota’s Black Hills for a fly-fishing and
conservation journey. Finally, Galante joins Lakota horseman Cat Clifford and his family for horseback riding, calf roping, and storytelling.
The integrated multi-brand collaboration runs on
social, digital and broadcast streaming platforms. The eight-minute episodes air on dedicated landing page on Matador and Roku TV.
To encourage audiences to create their own South Dakota road
trip, gear prizes from South Dakota, Jeep and Matador Network are being awarded throughout August.
“Since the beginning of our partnership with Travel South Dakota collaborating with
Jeep has been top of our bucket list. Jeep symbolizes freedom, adventure and the ability to navigate rugged terrains — qualities that perfectly complement South Dakota's vast, open landscapes
and spirit of exploration,” said Emily Blanchard, account director, Karsh Hagan.
