The latest Wells Fargo campaign for its Autograph Journey
Card has two Oscar winners behind it.
Taika Waititi (“JoJo Rabbit” ) directed, while Reese Witherspoon (“Walk the Line” ) stars in eight short spots.
BBDO New York is responsible for the creative, which embraces adventure and the spirit of exploration —
even if you've visited a place several times. The campaign runs on linear TV, digital and social.
In London, Witherspoon is seen dining at her favorite restaurants, attending a soccer game and
throwing darts, badly, in a pub.
As part of the campaign, Wells Fargo is sponsoring a music performance and fireside chat at the upcoming Shine Away event, Oct. 11-12, organized by
Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine.

“The campaign is based on the insight that when celebrities like Reese Witherspoon are traveling for work, they’re often
rushed through destinations at a surface level. They fly in, work, eat, sleep, and fly out. Rarely do they get to enjoy a destination on a more personal level — the way we might when we’re
traveling on vacation,” said Greg Ketchum, executive creative director, BBDO New York.
Last year, Wells Fargo
released “Be a 2%er,” which starred Martin Short and Steve Martin.
BBDO New York has also produced ads for AT&T Business, GE
and Guinness.
