TikTok To Honor U.S. Creators Ahead Of Looming Selloff Deal

With the potential for a nationalized TikTok platform via ByteDance’s looming deal with the Trump administration, the social-media company plans to host its first live U.S. awards show at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, where it will highlight top creators across the country alongside select brand sponsors.

During its inaugural U.S. “TikTok Awards” show, the company will announce U.S.-based nominees and winners for “Creator of the Year,” “Video of the Year,” “Muse of the Year,” “Breakthrough Artist of the Year,” and more.

In a blog post, TikTok writes that e.l.f. Cosmetics will be the event’s title sponsor, responsible for announcing the “Rising Star” award and hosting an “experiential activation with immersive content creation moments.” H&R Block and Carl’s Jr. will also be sponsoring the event.

After a red carpet livestream, the ceremony will take place in front of a live audience of hundreds of creators.

The show will stream live on TikTok and Tubi, an official streaming partner of the event and host of the “Tubi for Creators” program.

Trophies will be awarded across various creator categories including fashion, beauty, sports, TV and film and “new forms of entertainment,” per the blog post.

The company is tying in its ecommerce arm – TikTok Shop – to present the “Immediately Added To Cart” award for a creator who presented the most sought-after product purchased through the platform.

TikTok users will be able to cast votes for their favorite creators in the TikTok awards hub on the app, which will be open between November 18 and December 2.

While the TikTok Awards have taken place in other countries across the globe, the U.S.-based show comes as the White House tries to finalize a deal with China that would create a nationalized version of TikTok accessible only to American-based users.

However, despite U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stating that a deal would be finalized during President Trump's meeting with China’s Xi Jinping, no official progress on the deal has since been reported.
