Ben Franklin popularized an unavoidable reality: "In this world
nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."
To make the latter easier, there's TaxSlayer, an e-filing software that provides online tax prep for federal and state returns.
"File Fearlessly," its latest national campaign, features its spokescharacter "Calvin Culator."
Created by independent creative agency Party Land, “Cal” Culator does the math
so taxpayers don’t have to. Cal wants users to know TaxSlayer makes filing easy, accurate and painless.
The quirk character explains TaxSlayer’s calculator works around the clock
to deliver maximum refunds with 100% accuracy.
Spots runs on broadcast TV, CTV, digital and social. They are "Numbers" and Observe."

Mike Behrends, creative director, Party Land, calls Calvin "the
embodiment of TaxSlayer’s purpose — a little numbers genius who does all the computing and tax math for you so you don’t have to. He’s a sharp, excitable character who goes
crazy for credits and deductions and all other tax matters in a way no human ever should, which makes him the perfect partner for tax season."
This is the fifth tax season TaxSlayer and Party
Land have worked together.
The 2025 program includes new features and updates to reflect the latest tax laws, such as a new deduction for seniors aged 65+, deductions for certain tip and
overtime income, and changes to the Child Tax Credit. Those who qualify can file their federal return and one state return for free online using TaxSlayer Simply Free.
“Our spokescalculator Calvin takes the clarity of
TaxSlayer’s product and gives it a friendly, memorable voice. Thanks to our creative partnership with Party Land, he helps filers feel in control — and he’s a platform we can build
on year after year,” adds Sean McGinty, CMO, TaxSlayer.
