Apple TV Touts Strongest Month Ever, Driven By 'Pluribus,' 'F1' Viewing

Apple TV, the former Apple TV+ named streamer, posted its best ever monthly viewing hours this past December -- up 36%, according to a release from Eddie Cue, senior vice president of services at Apple.

Cue touts strong viewing from movie “F1: The Movie” as well as TV shows “Pluribus,” “The Family Plan 2” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Cue says the premiere of TV series “Pluribus” has been Apple’s biggest show to date. For the week of December 8-24, the show came in at ninth place among original streaming shows, with 360 million minutes viewed per Nielsen.

Expanding its interest in sports and Formula 1 car racing, it made a five-year-deal to exclusively stream every FI race in the U.S. It made sports gains in 2025 with “Friday Night Baseball” and Major League Soccer.

To date, the now five-year-old Apple TV streaming platform has amassed 672 awards and 3,085 nominations.

Cue cites strong quality content  -- garnering awards for specific shows including “The Studio,” “Severance” and espionage series “Slow Horses.”

Apple TV+ viewing share as per Nielsen was around 1% -- around the same level as Paramount+ and Pluto TV -- for a large part of the year, according to Nielsen.
