Last week, Kalshi asked paid political
influencers to remove posts from X that questioned the integrity of the Los Angeles mayoral election with regard to the promotion of odds on the popular online prediction market platform.
According to Semafor, a leading MAGA influencer
named Gunther Eagleman posted several times on X about the LA mayoral race being stolen from right-wing candidate and former reality star Spencer Pratt.
The posts were part of a paid
partnership with Kalshi, which allows people to vote on political races.
Multiple right-leaning political influencers in partnership with Kalshi have promoted the idea of election fraud in
relation to Democratic candidate Nithya Raman overtaking Pratt as ballots continue to be counted, Semafor noted in its report.

On Friday, Kalshi asked Eagleman and other influencers to remove
the posts in question.
“We’ve asked these to be taken down, as they violate our affiliate marketing policies,” Dani Lever, a spokesperson, told Semafor.
Separately,
the ad industry self-regulatory watchdog said Monday that it had referred Kalshi to the Federal Trade Commission and others for
allegedly failing to participate in a review of influencer marketing.
The FTC has previously stated it would allow prediction markets to operate more openly.
As a result, Kalshi and
other marketplaces such as Polymarket have partnered with influencers, many of whom post on X, to share prediction market data.
