Ben James has been named Chief Creative
Officer of Crispin.
He joins from Gale, where he was the agency's Chief Innovation Officer. There, he launched Advance Party. a unit dedicated to exploring emerging media on behalf of
clients.
James has also held creative posts at T Brand Studio at The New York Times, CAA, BBH LA and Goodby Silverstein. Earlier, he was an art director at Crispin.
"Ben doesn't
think in traditional agency templates, and that's why he's the perfect person for the job," said CEO Maggie Malek. "He gets our DNA because he's lived it. He sees where we're going, and he's brilliant
at taking scattered, wild ideas and connecting the dots to actually solve business problems."
In the last year, Crispin added American Eagle, O'Keeffe's, GORUCK, and Sticky Fingers (part of
Ken’s Foods), while scaling work for New Balance, Samsung, P&G and Target.
"This place has a reputation for getting results from trying new things," said James. "Technology has
rewritten how and where we communicate, but the fundamental mission hasn't changed. The industry is craving inventiveness, and I'm already seeing great examples of it here at Crispin."
