Two Things, the New York-based business transformation studio has hired agency veteran Katie Birkel as its first head of partnerships. 

The firm said Birkel will lead partnerships across business development, marketing, content and communications. She will also design the systems behind how Two Things identifies and starts work with clients. 

Most recently she was vice president-executive director of growth at R/GA. Previously she served at Huge, rising to group vice president of growth. Earlier she worked at TBWA\Chiat\Day, Laird + Partners and others. 

Two Things was founded in 2018 by two former members of Wieden + Kennedy’s creative technology group-- Nilesh Ashra and Paulo Ribeiro. The studio has worked with clients like Unity, The North Face and Timberland.  

Birkel's hire follows a series of senior appointments over the past 18 months. They include Head of Strategy Bryna Keenaghan, Head of Product Design Roy Tatum, Head of Product Justin Baum, Head of Technology Ryan Kee, who joined in June to lead the studio's retail practice.
