• Consumes in UK Lean on Mobile for Shopping
    Over half over UK consumers use their mobile when shopping, and almost a quarter (22 per cent) make purchases through their phones, research from VoucherCodes.co.uk has found. The international research, carried out by Ipsos Public Affairs, discovered that UK is the European capital of m-commerce, with ten per cent of those surveyed in the UK saying that their smartphone is their main method of shopping. In France, just four per cent claim to have ever made purchase through a mobile device, whereas Germany and the Netherlands boast just 14 and eight per cent respectively.

    eBay reported third-quarter earnings after the bell Wednesday, and the report was saved by revenue increases across the portfolio. Collectively, the online retail giant reported a net income of $689 million, or 53 cents per share. Non-GAAP earnings were 64 cents per share on revenue of $3.9 billion, up 14 percent annually.     Dilma Rousseff, the President of Brazil, has now given approval to a brand new law that brings regulations to the mobile payments sector into the country in order to guide the businesses and consumers who wish to take part in this type of transaction.     The proliferation of smartphones is having a dramatic effect on retail sales, with new figures from Deloitte predicting that mobile will influence 10-15% of store retail sales by 2017 - equating to GBP27bn and GBP41bn in store sales.
