Dove Links With MLB Figures For Videos, Sweeps

Dove

Dove Men+Care has enlisted Major League Baseball personalities for online videos and a sweepstakes to promote the men's skincare line from Unilever.

The video series, themed "Journey to Comfort," can be viewed at www.dovemencare.com. The first 90-second video is from the St. Louis Cardinals' Albert Pujols and premiered June 15. It will be followed on July 9 with an effort from the New York Yankees' Andy Pettitte.

Coach Joe Girardi's video will launch July 15. Fans can view longer-form versions of all three videos and special behind-the-scenes footage of Pujols, Pettitte and Girardi at home with their families by visiting the Web site.

Dove is also launching a sweepstakes to coincide with the videos. The "ultimate baseball fan" can enter a sweepstakes to meet Pujols and watch batting practice from the field. Included in the grand prize is a three-day, two-night trip for up to four guests. Other winners will receive autographed baseball gear. The sweepstakes runs through July 18.

Edelman, which handles public relations for the brand, was unable to answer questions Tuesday regarding which mechanisms would be used to promote the contest and the videos.

The videos showcase the unsung moments, cherished memories and personal milestones that helped the MLB personalities become comfortable in their own skin, both on and off the field.

For the first time ever, Pujols, Pettitte and Girardi reveal the experiences from their childhood, awkward teenage years, and other life stages that have led them to a time when they can take others' expectations in stride and define their own success. In his video, Pujols tells how he played it smooth the first time he met his wife, while Pettitte talks about adjusting from life in Texas to New York.

This could be pretty cool. Would be nice if they highlighted other teams, too!
