Monday morning announced that Syncbak, a company that provides technology enabling broadcasters to stream live and on-demand video content to connected devices, has become the first developer of its
kind to integrate Nielsen's digital watermarking technology to measure its mobile audiences.
The integration, which follows a technical trial Syncbak conducted last summer, will enable
broadcasters to integrate their mobile streaming audiences into their conventional TV ratings, as long as it is the same content carrying the same ads as the telecast versions.
Nielsen said
the integration initially covers content streamed on Apple’s iOS platform, but that Syncbak is beginning work to integrate it with an Android version.
Syncbak says it currently has more
than 150 television stations across the U.S. using its platform.
