Motors, Volvo and Amazon are partnering to encourage customers to try in-car delivery from the online retailer.
Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac and Volvo owners in the United States who
are Prime members and first-time Amazon Key In-Car Delivery customers will receive a $10 gift card from Amazon to try the service, which helps “keep your packages a surprise for your loved ones
this holiday season,” according to Amazon.
The service enables packages to be delivered to a vehicle when it’s parked in a publicly accessible area, such as on the street in front
of an apartment building, at a workplace surface parking lot or in a home driveway. Delivery is available on tens of millions of items sold on Amazon.com and works with same day, two-day and standard
shipping.

The service is only available to Amazon Prime members who pay $119 per year for unlimited free shipping and access to other services such as Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Music.

vehicle solutions.
Amazon began offering the service in April to General Motors and Volvo customers who own 2015 model year and newer vehicles.
“Amazon Key has had a very
positive reception from customers since its launch,” London tells Marketing Daily. “Leveraging our embedded in-vehicle connectivity gives Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac owners
the option to conveniently receive deliveries inside their vehicle. This is an example of how we provide customers with technologies to enhance their ownership experience.”
Amazon does
not provide usage statistics, but GM has more than 7 million owners of eligible Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles in the United States, London says.
