Continuing its U.S. expansion efforts, UK out-of-home agency Talon has acquired San Diego-based OOH shop Grandesign. Terms were not disclosed.

The deal creates the company’s first presence on the West Coast. 

Last year, the company established a beachhead in the U.S. via a venture with Holt Media that opened an office in New York. 

In January, Talon brought on Barry Cupples as global CEO to the firm’s expansion efforts. 

In addition to San Diego, Grandesign has offices in Los Angeles, Denver, St. Louis and Atlanta. Those offices will rebrand as Talon. 

Grandesign’s founder and former CEO Aaron Gaeir will remain with the company as Chief Revenue Officer, reporting to Talon managing partner Adrian Skelton. 

“Aaron and the team have built a great business and culture at Grandesign, which has made the first stage of our integration plan pretty seamless,” stated Skelton. “We are excited about developing the best working practices from both agencies to elevate the quality of work across our U.S. client portfolio, while looking towards growth with a structured new business drive.”
