Premion, the TEGNA-owned CTV and OTT video advertising platform for regional and local advertisers, has tapped John Vilade as its head of sales and vice president.
In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the company’s national and regional sales operation.
Vilade is joining Premion from TrustX, where he was Chief Revenue Officer. Before TrustX, he served in a number of sales roles at NBCUniversal, CBS, Discovery and Hulu.
CTV and OTT remain growth drivers in the video advertising business, but ad revenue is still lagging behind consumer adoption. This despite the more advanced targeting and data-driven opportunities these advanced ad platforms present.
Local and regional advertisers have been particularly slow to move into the space, though companies such as Premion are trying to change that habit.
