Moovly, a video marketing firm based in Europe, has formed an integration with Mailchimp’s email platform that will allow its clients to send personalized videos.
Users of the
Moovly Video Automator can select a template, attach a column of email addresses and then send the email, the company says.
The goal is to make the “sending of mass, personalized
videos to leads, clients, newsletter subscribers, and event invitations easy and affordable,” states Moovly CEO Brendon Grunewald.
Grunewald adds that “increasingly, clients want
to consume their content visually.” The company claims that clients can send videos.
“in much the same way that Mailchimp originated mass text-based email 'blasts' for clients
years ago.
It is not clear whether the GDPR could get in the way. In March, the Bavarian Data Protection Authority ruled that a German publisher cannot transfer email addresses to Mailchimp in
the U.S. for use in sending email newsletters, one concern being that the data could be accessed by U.S. intelligence services, but that might not apply here.
Moovly cites Mailchimp’s
2020 Annual report stating that Mailchimp send 333.6 billion emails last year, with 14.6 thousand new users signing up every day.
For its part, Moovly provides cloud-based tools for
marketing and communications using videos and video presentations.
