Weird Charlie Collier's 'Newfront Uptime'

"I can't believe it's newfront uptime -- um, newfront upfront time," Roku Media President Charlie Collier flubbed after being weirdly introduced by Al Yankovic at Roku's newfront presentation in New York City Tuesday evening.

His flub was understandable, given that the former Fox and AMC Networks chief is a veteran of many upfront pitches, but this is his first newfront one since joining Roku last fall.

"Alright, here's a question for you," Collier collected himself in front of his new newfronts audience, asking: "If you were creating the best TV experience in the world would you just tweak regular TV, or would you transform it?"

Collier went on to disclose that it's a question he's thought a lot about since joining Roku, but as a journalist covering multiple newfronts, upfronts, and every-which-way-fronts, I kind of liked the contraction he inspired by his opening flub, and recommending that for simplicity sake, we all tweak it to "newfrontuptime" going forward.
