Last month, snack food and cereal giant Kellanova completed a major agency overhaul. Now, according to a Reuters report, Mars Inc. (Snickers, M&Ms and other brands) is exploring a possible acquisition of the company.
A deal is not certain at this point, according to the report. But if it does happen, another agency shakeup could be in the works.

On the media side, Kellanova retained Publicis for media duties across North America. in 2022, Mars opted to stick
with GroupM’s MediaCom to service its $1 billion media services through 2025.
IPG’s FCB was a big winner on the creative side of the Kellanova review, expanding its remit
and being awarded lead creative on global and priority brands, including Pringles.
Publicis also retained its existing creative assignments and was awarded additional ones. Other agencies also have creative assignments.
Omnicom’s BBDO and DDB have led much of the Mars creative work for years.
Reuters noted that if Kellanova is sold — to Mars or another company — it would be one of the biggest deals ever in the packaged goods sector. The firm has an estimated market value of $27 billion, per the report.
