An analyst has made two predictions related to artificial intelligence (AI): that Google AI Mode will replace traditional search, and Apple will continue to use Google's engine as its default.

Whether or not these predictions come true is anyone's guess, but Trip Chowdhry, managing director at Global Equities Research, is betting on it based on attending yesterday's hackathon, where he was introduced by Google to AI Mode, which he now believes will replace Google Search "as we know it."

AI Mode, which now sits on the Google search page, provides answers, summaries, and insights directly in the search results, which could reduce the need to visit multiple websites.

"All Hackers were super impressed by Google AI Mode, if hackers like, it is a matter of time, everyone will like it - that has been true in majority of the cases," Chowdhry wrote in a note published today, adding: "Google AI Mode is build on customized version of Gemini 2.0 AI Model - think about it as Thermo-Nuclear-Search-Engine literally mind blowing."

Chowdhry thinks it's "impossible for Apple" to "disassociate" its platform from Google Search as the default.

AI Mode offers advanced reasoning and Multimodal text, voice, images, and video capabilities with high performance and zero latency.

It will likely happen (soon)er than many think. Next week, Anthropic AI models -- Claude 3.5 Haiku, 3.7 Sonnet, and 3 Opus -- will likely be updated with advanced reasoning, adaptability, and transparency, according to The Information.

Generative artificial intelligence (GAI) continues to leap forward at lightning speed, changing advertising and marketing.

The technology is affecting all aspects of automation and business, which is likely why on Wednesday Google Cloud launched a GAI certification program specifically for non-technical professionals like managers and strategists to give them a foundational understanding of AI and how it is used.

Those participating in the classes will learn skills in working with AI, including hands-on experience.

Google's research shows more than 80% of people with certifications in Google Cloud say it opens doors.

Reports suggest 62% of employers now expect candidates and employees to possess at least some familiarity with AI, according to data from Coursera Job Skills Report 2025.

The certification requires five key courses, including GAI beyond chatbots, explaining concepts like large language models (LLMs), gaining a comprehensive overview of the broader AI ecosystem including infrastructures and models, learning about tangible applications.

But the most helpful course is related to GAI agents. This course explores how GAI agents can drive significant organizational change, and teaches how to customize models, establish key metrics for measuring impact, ways to adapt to changing trends, and effectively leading generative AI adoption initiatives.
