Unique Streaming Titles Rising, Up 5% In Q2

Looking at all five major premium streaming services, the total number of new titles of program content -- TV series, movies and sports programming -- grew 5% (4,500) in the second quarter of 2025 to 94,400, according to Nielsen’s Gracenote.

Top premium streaming platform Netflix added a massive 18.2% more new individual content titles -- to total 20,400 -- easily outperforming other major premium services.

Gracenote says Netflix has a 20.1% share of all TV shows, movies and sports programs that are available on five top streaming services in its report -- up 17.9% from the first quarter.

Streaming services can have non-exclusive as well as exclusive rights to TV shows and movies.

In terms of overall unique program titles, Amazon Prime Video has the largest overall library of all titles --  68,500 (up 3.2% from the first quarter) -- followed by Disney+ with 9,200 (adding 1.6%); Paramount+ at 3,300 (1% higher) and Apple TV+, up 3.7% to 312 titles.

Looking at specific program genres, the five top SVOD services grew sports content by 7.8% in the quarter -- a bigger improvement than for TV shows (up 6.8%) and movies (up 4%).

Three platforms -- Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Netflix -- are the leading sports players for streaming programming -- with a combined 92% share.

In the first quarter, total streaming volume -- which tallies individual entertainment and sports episodes of TV series, as well as movie titles -- amounted to 554,900, compared to 544,100 in the fourth quarter of 2024.
