WNBA All-Stars Ionescu, Wilson Go 'Beyond The Bleachers' Again For AT&T

2024 WNBA Champion Sabrina Ionescu and Las Vegas Aces All-Star A’ja Wilson are returning for a new iteration of AT&T’s “Beyond The Bleachers” campaign.

Ionescu and Wilson helped AT&T introduce the “Beyond The Bleachers” campaign last summer, ahead of the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, offering the chance to win a trip to meet the WNBA stars. The contest resulted in two winning fans connecting with Wilson and Ionescu as the two stars prepared for the 2024 WNBA Playoffs.

This year’s campaign arrives after the league’s All-Star matchup, which was held on July 19. The brand introduced the 2025 iteration of “Beyond The Bleachers” with a paid promotional video shared on the WNBA’s social channels, showcasing a behind-the-scenes look at last year’s winners’ experiences.

Like the first iteration, the campaign centers around a promotional contest calling on WNBA fans to submit a short video explaining why they should win an exclusive off-court experience. The campaign includes paid social promotions driving submissions running across Instagram and TikTok, and organic social content across Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, amplified by WNBA’s channels. Additional content launched today, building on the launch.

The campaign driving submissions for the contest runs through the Aug. 15 deadline for submissions. Further content capturing footage of this year’s winners will run later across social media channels for AT&T, the WNBA, and channels for individual WNBA talent featured.

This year, AT&T is growing “Beyond The Bleachers” by expanding the contest to more fans, and allowing them to bring more friends or family along on the trip. AT&T told Marketing Daily that the contest was adding additional VIP experiences across Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles, connecting more fans with their favorite WNBA stars; and allowing this year’s winners to bring up to three guests along for the experience, across all five potential winners.

According to the promotional contest’s landing page and official rules, the “dream trip” includes VIP seats, surprise swag, and “real conversation off the court” with one of the stars – with each winner receiving a trip for them and three travel companions later this summer or fall to New York to meet Ionescu, Las Vegas to meet Wilson; or Atlanta, Dallas, or Los Angeles to meet a different WNBA star. Fifteen finalists will be determined from the initial pool of applicants, followed by a second round selecting five potential prize winners, by a judging panel of marketing experts.
