With Paramount Skydance now inching closer to complete its
deal to acquire Warner Bros Discovery, the company has named veteran HBO executive Casey Bloys to lead streaming content for the company’s high-profile streaming platforms -- Paramount+ and HBO
Max.
Bloys is poised to step in following the departure of executive Cindy Holland, who has been chair of Paramount’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) business. Bloys is currently chairman/CEO
of content for HBO/HBO Max.
Analysts expect the businesses will be combined under one broad-based streaming platform.
In addition to Paramount+, Holland was overseeing Pluto TV, the
company’s FAST platform (free ad-supported streaming television). Before coming to Paramount, Holland had been in-charge of U.S. originals at Netflix.
For the first six months of 2026,
Paramount took in $1.1 billion in D2C advertising, from a total of $4.9 billion for the period.
