• Hepburn Returns To Drive Press And Journal Online
    Iain Hepburn has been appointed online editor at The Press and Journal to spearhead a revamp of its website, marking a return to the title which began his career almost 17 years ago. Hepburn left his role at The National in Abu Dhabi after a year in the role of online sports editor, and brings experience across the board from various positions at SFX Magazine, City Life Magazine, Daily Mirror, STV and The Drum.
  • Evening Standard, NOOK To Get London Reading
    The London Evening Standard has partnered with NOOK Media, LLC, a subsidiary of Barnes & Noble, to support the newspaper's literacy campaign - Get London Reading. NOOK will donate 1,000 of its eReaders to the campaign's reading helpers trained by campaign partner and national literacy charity, Beanstalk. The volunteers will then use the NOOKs in schools with high levels of illiteracy, helping children who have fallen behind with their reading.
  • Parliament Panel To Quiz Google On Taxes
    Google and its auditor Ernst & Young will be asked again to be present before a British parliament committee to clarify its tax arrangements in the UK. Last November, the UK government's financial affairs monitoring agency, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), questioned Google, Amazon and Starbucks for using complex accounting methods to avoid tax liabilities in the country.
