Newport, who will be responsible for overseeing the U.S. operations of Hyperspace, Posterscope's advanced digital out-of-home media practice, most recently was founder, CMO and managing director of MobileBehavior, a strategic mobile marketing consultancy within Omnicom Group.
He effectively fills a position that has been open since Ryan Laul left as head of the U.S. unit in February, following a reorganization of Posterscope resulting from a strategic partnership between Posterscope parent Aegis Group and Havas' Chrysalis unit to combine their out-of-home buying power and strategic planning capabilities.
While digital out-of-home is still a relatively small part of the total out-of-home mix, it is the fastest-growing and most dynamic part, so filling the Hyperspace position has been key to the organization.

"Having Jason on board to develop and drive the integration of Hyperspace throughout our U.S. organization will further enhance the level of innovation we bring to each of our client solutions," stated James Davies, chief strategy officer for Posterscope USA and head of Hyperspace UK.
Newport's appointment comes on the heels of two other senior-level hires at Posterscope in recent months, including Brigg Hyland as chief client officer and Natalie Payne as senior vice president and Director, West Coast.
Great news! Posterscope did well on this acquisition. I got the opportunity to work with Jason during his stint at Fleishman/Mobile Behavior. Jason is definitely one of the great minds in the mobile space today. He possesses the ability to see what's ahead and has great insight on how to serve clients' needs. He has the ability to take the thinking of those around him to the next level, develop strategies that best utilize emerging trends and execute on campaigns time and time again.
Congrats to both Posterscope and Jason on this one.
