Mullen, SapientNitro and Applause were the big winners at the 18th annual MITX Awards for excellence in digital marketing, technology and innovation, held Thursday night in Boston's Seaport
Of the record 31 awards given out, Mullen scored the largest number, including a best industry marketing award in the Travel, Entertainment & Leisure category, and innovation
awards in the Best Use of Mobile and Best Use of Social Media categories. Mediahub/Mullen took the award for Best Performance Marketing Campaign.
SapientNitro was the next biggest
winner, taking home awards for Best Use of Experiential Marketing and Best Use of Online Video.
In the ad tech space, Swirl Networks took the prize for Most Innovative Ad Technology,
while Prelert won in the Big Data and Analytics Innovation category. Mustbin grabbed the award for Most Innovative Mobile App and Paydiant for Most Innovative Mobile Solution.
Applause beat out ten contenders to claim the ominous-sounding Disruptive Genius Award for its app testing and analytics services. MITX's Hall of Fame honor went to former Boston Mayor Thomas Menino
for his steadfast support of region's digital and tech communities, while the Innovation Enabler award was given to Tim Rowe, founder and CEO of the revered Cambridge Innovation Center.
