Horizon Launches Performance-Based Agency

Horizon Media is introducing Big, a new performance-based agency aimed at start-ups, ecommerce and emerging brands. Gene Turner, executive vice president and chief of Horizon Next, will add oversight of Big to his duties.

Big’s core offering will be "holistic data management" to provide clients with customized access to brand strategy, consumer insights, trend analysis, social listening, customer journey mapping, channel planning and strategic media investment across all channels.

The new unit will also offer SEO consulting, programmatic buying, content marketing, brand health, reporting and analytics and other services. Essentially everything Horizon delivers, Big will, too. But the latter’s compensation model is based 100% on driving improved business outcomes.

This compensation model represents a “true commitment to business partnership and the success of our clients,” says Vincent O’Toole, COO-CFO, Horizon. “It is also a clear signal of the confidence we have in Big’s ability to disrupt the industry and the value it will generate for our clients."

Big launches with an inaugural client, a new brand dedicated to millennial moms coming later this year from Fridababy founders.

This new entity is the latest new agency venture from Horizon.

Four years ago, it launched Canvas Worldwide, in a joint venture with Innocean Worldwide to service the Hyundai and KIA businesses. The shop has since grown and added new clients, such as Heineken USA, Breville, Annapurna Pictures and Wingstop Restaurants.

In 2016, Horizon turned its direct marketing division into a standalone entity, Horizon Next, with clients UnitedHealth Group, Peloton, Safelite and ADT. Horizon also recently signed an agreement with Hylink, China’s largest digital agency, to provide each agency with greater insight and access to the Chinese and U.S. markets respectively.
