Redbox, Screenvision Strike Ad Deal

Just days after its in-theater advertising platform competitor National CineMedia struck two placed-based content/ad-sales deals, Screenvision Media inked an ad-sales agreement with Redbox -- a video rental kiosk/streaming movie platform.

Screenvision Media will aid Redbox in selling national, regional and local advertising to all its platforms -- kiosk/digital out-of-home, digital website/app and connected TVs.

The deal will produce “hundreds of millions of video and display impressions.” Redbox says it reaches more than 40 million customers across all its platforms.

Screenvision Media sells advertising in movie theaters, sports venues and through its OOH network. Redbox says it and Screenvision Media will combine efforts under Redbox’s Redbox Connect advertising0sales arm.

Terrence Coles, senior director of Redbox Media Networks, stated that the deal “enables us to expand national campaigns, as well as deploy regional and hyper-local opportunities for our advertising partners to engage with Redbox customers.”

In the last two weeks, in-cinema advertising network National CineMedia struck a deal with Captivate, the elevator/building digital video network, where NCM will provide content, with its “Noovie” in-theater pre-movie show, as well as sell advertising.

Just days before this agreement, NCM struck a similar ad and content deal with Coinstar’s digital advertising platform -- adPlanet -- which sits atop Coinstar kiosks in grocery stores.
