NBCU Promotes Dan Lovinger To President, NBC Ad Sales, Partnerships With Olympics Focus

NBCUniversal has promoted Dan Lovinger to president, NBC Advertising Sales and Partnerships, with a focus on the company’s Olympic and Paralympic interests.

He will also manage NBCU’s advertising with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties group for all Games through 2032. This includes sponsorship sales for the Los Angeles Summer Olympics in 2028.

He will now report to Linda Yaccarino, chairman of global advertising and partnerships for NBCUniversal.

Lovinger had been executive vice president, sales and partnerships of NBC Sports Group, leading all efforts for major sports programming events including the NFL’s “Sunday Night Football” and Olympics sales.

Back in September 2021, he said that for the upcoming Super Bowl on February 13, some Super Bowl 30-second commercials had been sold at an all-time high of $6.5 million.

All but five Super Bowl spots at that time were sold.

At that time, Lovinger said some of those Super Bowl deals were being packaged with other sports and non-sports NBC advertising inventory.

With Lovinger’s move to be fully involved in the Olympics/Paralympics, the remainder of NBC sports advertising sales will continue to report to Mark Marshall, president, advertising and clients partnerships of NBCUniversal Media.

This includes, among other sports, recent renewals for PGA Tour, “Sunday Night Football,” Premier League as well as a new deal to air a spring professional league, the USFL.
