System1 Acquires Coupon Code Search Engine CouponFollow

System1 announced today the acquisition of coupon code search engine CouponFollow for $115 million.

“With ecommerce’s continued spending growth, we see a tremendous opportunity to leverage our RAMP customer acquisition platform to further scale CouponFollow’s business,” stated Michael Blend, co-founder and CEO of System1.

Online shopping revenue is expected to exceed $1.3 trillion by 2025 in the United States, according to data published by Statista Research.

System1 also gains CouponFollow’s millions of email newsletter subscribers to accelerate its ecommerce efforts. The company works with more than 5,000 brand partners, including many of the top online retailers in the fashion, travel and electronics categories.

System1 spends more than $500 million on digital marketing annually, the company reported. The company went public in January.

CouponFollow’s team will join System1. Marc Mezzacca, founder and CEO of NextGen Shopping, which owned CouponFollow, will join System1’s executive leadership team.

The stock consideration was issued in a private placement to the stockholders of NextGen Shopping.

Methuselah Advisors served as the exclusive financial advisor to CouponFollow for the transaction, the company said.
