Yaccarino Appoints 4 Execs At X, Brett Weitz Named Head Of Content

Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X, has appointed four executive hires at the social-media platform formerly known as Twitter, pulling talent from her previous workplaces, Turner Entertainment and NBCUniversal. This includes Brett Weitz, who has been named X’s head of content, talent and brand sales.

Weitz, former general manager of TNT, TBS and TruTV, left WarnerMedia last May in the midst of a major restructuring following the company’s merger with Discovery. Weitz worked at Warner for 14 years. During his last few years, TNT and TBS maintained their positions as the first and second leading networks in prime time.

Weitz is not the only new executive to join Yaccarino's leadership and sales team at X.

"Today we're welcoming new leaders at @X to reflect the evolving needs of our customers and partners,” Yaccarino posted on X. “Monique Pintarelli joins us as the Head of the Americas, overseeing Sales and Partnerships across the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Carrie Stimmel joins us as our Global Agency Leader, Brett Weitz as our new Head of Content, Talent and Brand Sales, and Rob Hayes will be our Lead for Revenue Operations. Welcome to the town square.”

Yaccarino then added: “We fired so many people that we finally had to add a few back lmao.”

Yaccarino's new hires are mostly focused in the areas of advertising sales and revenue. Weitz joining the company, however, suggests a renewed focus on growing X’s business through enhanced content and relations.

Recently, X has made industry headlines for lowering the requirements for its ad revenue share program and, in some cases, paying small-time creators more than they expected.

In addition to hiring Hollywood talent to executive positions, Yaccarino is also doing a “complete leadership restructure” in its IT, legal, finance and operations departments, the company says.

Brett Weitz was formerly general manager of Warner Bros. Discovery's TNT, TBS and truTV.
