New York City-based insurance company MetLife is extending its relationship with both NFL teams representing the New York Metropolitan Area in an effort that aims to help local pets.
MetLife Pet Insurance will support local pet rescue organizations through Dec. 31, donating $5 for every pet insurance quote the company processes through metlifepetinsurance.com/jets or metlifepetinsurance.com/giants, up to $10,000 per team (for a maximum donation of $20,000).
Both teams share residency at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. MetLife first acquired the naming rights to the stadium back in 2011, in an agreement granting the insurance company official naming rights for 25 years.

To promote the initiative, MetLife drafted pet parents New York Giants nose tackle Dexter Lawrence and New York Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson as program ambassadors. Materials including radio ads and video content feature Lawrence’s three dogs, Onyx, Echo and Reese; and Johnson’s dogs Apollo and Maximus.
Video content will be featured in MetLife Stadium, as well as broadcast segments during games, and on social channels for MetLife, player ambassadors, and team partners. Each team will also host pet adoption events for their rescue organization partners throughout the NFL season. The official partnership follows the New York Jets posting a TikTok video about a dog adoption drive at a team practice.
“MetLife Pet Insurance is deeply committed to helping pets find a home that is right for them, and we have a long history of helping animal welfare organizations,” Brian Jorgensen, head of MetLife Pet Insurance, said in a statement.
