Why Walking In This Stiletto Collective CEO's Shoes Is Anything But Boring

Stiletto Collective's Ly Tran talks breaking barriers, redefining success, and her unusual recurring dream.

I've had the opportunity to connect with and learn from executives of major brands at MediaPost's Insider Summits. In the process I've discovered some truly impressive women -- not only for the work they do, but their stories behind the scenes. With Brand Insider: BTS, I get to pull back the curtain on some of the most influential women marketers as they talk about their path to success: the twists and turns, obstacles, inspirations and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

What’s your work/life philosophy? For Ly Tran, intrepidity is at the top of the list. When asked to share an example of her most memorable “intrepid" moment, her reply was learning to ride a bike as a kid-- constantly pushing boundaries and seeing just how far she could go, both literally and figuratively. It’s that kind of determination that motivated Ly to open Stiletto Collective, a minority, woman-owned media agency in Texas. In this episode of Brand Insider: BTS, Ly opens up about overcoming her Asian parents cultural norms and expectations, breaking barriers, and balancing ambition with her greatest role: being a Mom. She also shares why her son is her biggest motivator and how his skateboarding wisdom--  “keep falling and get back up until you land the trick” continues to keep her inspired. You can watch the entire conversation above.
