Google, Others Share How AI Creates Ikea Ad In Seconds Worth $100k

An Ikea ad concept has gone viral, showing how AI ads can reduce the time and cost to create them.

The ad capitalizes on Ikea's branding -- the build-it-yourself model.

The ad begins with a wide shot of a drab, dormitory-type room. In the center is a simple Ikea-branded cardboard box. In seconds, the box opens, filling the room with colorful Ikea furniture and transforming it into a cozy bedroom.

Salma Aboukar, a professional image creator who is CEO of Qreates, who appears to have created the ad, focuses on AI and brand applications -- especially for product photography, demonstrated the technology.

From Aboukar's prompts, others like Jordan Metzner, founder of ryzlabs, built their own version of the ad.

Joseph Michael, venture partnerships at Google, shared what he called "an incredible ad worth $100,000" made in seconds with the video generation mode that produced high-fidelity, 8-second 720p videos from text prompts. Google DeepMind created the technology.

The purpose of Michael's post of the ad and prompts on LinkedIn was to demonstrate the ease of using the technology to create a seamless 8-second high-quality ad. The ad seems to require less than a 60-line prompt consisting of words like "art," "rug," "curtains," "potted plants."

Michael, whose LinkedIn post describes him as a leading investor for partnerships at Google Cloud in the Nordics and Central Eastern Europe, described how the prompt uses action sequences like "Hyper lapse: From the fix wide perspective, furniture pieces fly out of the box and assemble themselves, creating all of the items from the assembled-elements list. Audio also is added with a prompt.

AI video tools like VEO 3 are changing advertising for marketers and creators. Nari Media, a full-service digital marketing agency, recreated the ad and posted it to YouTube with instructions on how to build it. The agency also pointed to Google's master prompting guide.

Alibaba, a Chinese technology company that specializes in technology and ecommerce, on Wednesday launched the coder, calling the model its "most advanced agentic AI coding model designed for high-performance software development. Qwen3-Coder supports sophisticated agentic AI coding tasks, from generating new codes and managing complex coding workflows to debugging across entire codebases," is said adding that it is "trained on extensive datasets of code and text for agentic coding."

The coder natively supports a context window of 256K tokens, extendable up to 1 million tokens, which are the fundamental units that AI models use to process and understand language.

While generative AI (GAI) is transforming advertising, agentic AI coding is transforming software development by enabling more autonomous, efficient and accessible programming workflows.

Alibaba's model, which has already surpassed 20 million downloads globally, is available on Hugging Face and GitHub
