
HBO Max leads among major global streamers when it
comes to accessing overall available sports programming at 35%, according to Nielsen Gracenote.

The data is drawn from nearly
38,500 sports shows, episodes, sports games and events on the leading global streaming subscription video on demand (SVOD) services.
Just looking at strongly viewed live individual games and
events, HBO Max offers 42% of available sports content.
HBO Max currently airs major global sports events including the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, the 2026 Giro d’Italia -- a major
three-week road bike race -- and the big European football (soccer) event, the 2026 UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Men’s Club Final.
Paramount+ is in second place at 30%,
followed by Amazon Prime Video at 25%, Netflix with 15% and Disney+ at 14%.

HBO Max was recently included in Gracenote Data Hub.
Sports content is now up to 5% as a percentage of all
streaming content globally (entertainment, news, and other programming) among seven major global streaming platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix and Paramount+ and HBO
Max.
In November 2024, sports programming across the five major streamers made up 1.4% of all their content.
Gracenote also says 37% of content on sports channels on free ad-supported
streaming television platforms (FAST channels) is live sports events.
A second-quarter update finds that the number of FAST channels has increased by 19% year-over-year.
