Amazon Ads announced a new AI-based ad format on Tuesday that connects
shoppers across its marketplace with local service professionals found on Yelp.
"Sponsored Services" ads appear after shoppers search on Amazon for something that could require professional
installation or follow-on services. It also serves up when a consumer make a purchase.
The new ad format, announced at Amazon unBoxed 2026 on Tuesday, connects consumers with local service
pros. It helps consumers discover advertisers at the moment they make a purchase.
If a consumer purchases a new bookshelf, they can request a quote from a furniture assembly
professional on Yelp within a few clicks.
Adobe expects AI traffic to U.S. online sales is expected to reach $275.1 billion, up 6.7% year over year (YoY), according to Adobe's annual online

Consumers using AI are expected to engage with brands and offers at a higher rate than non-AI traffic.
About 43% generate more revenue per visit, Adobe found in a survey of 5,000 U.S. consumers. Compare this with the what Adobe found 18 months prior when non-AI traffic was worth 128% more than
AI-referred visits.
AI traffic to U.S. retail sites this holiday season is expected to rise 130% YoY, according to Adobe.
To turn
intent into revenue, Amazon will serve context-aware service ads right at the point of purchase.
Amazon Ads will serve the Sponsored Services
ads on product detail pages, order confirmation pages, and package tracking pages across Amazon. If the shopper buys a new kitchen faucet, they may see an ad for a local plumber on their order
confirmation page.
The shopper can click "Call" or "Quote" on the ad. When they click on the "Call" button, the shopper calls the professional directly without leaving Amazon.
The
"Quote" option lets the shopper submit a quick request directly from the ad experience and the plumber will follow up to provide an estimate.
Yelp focuses on hyper-local businesses and targeting. Through its millions of local businesses, supported by more than 300 million reviews, shoppers can
connect with local professionals, like plumbers, electricians, landscapers, home cleaners, roofers, movers, and more. The company has spent more than two decades building a platform to help people
find great local businesses.
