Endless speculation about the inevitability of advertising seems strong evidence that linear TV stakeholders are very, very afraid of Netflix. I guess that includes the trade press folks, too. My advice is to embrace the future because resistance is futile. My family and I spent a lovely 7 hours binge-watching Stranger Things 3 last Thursday on our holiday from work. Apparently, we were not alone in our advertising-free cocoon, although we did see some product placement).
Yes 40 million is an impressive number.
Is it just the USA or globally? Assuming it is USA it's still about half of what the SuperBowl can do in a single day.
