J.Crew, MasterCard Partner For MasterPass

J.Crew jcrewhas selected MasterCard’s MasterPass to provide shoppers with a secure and speedy checkout experience.

The two companies are launching an integrated marketing campaign, including a new TV spot. The program will also encompass digital and social initiatives.

The free digital wallet service enables shoppers to use any payment card or enabled device to unlock a simplified and speedier checkout experience whether they're at home, in a store or on the go.

"The world of online shopping is changing rapidly,” said Jenna Lyons, president and executive creative director, J.Crew, in a release. “Customers want ease and simplicity. MasterPass has paved the road to easy.”

The spot highlights J.Crew’s seasonal offerings, and explains how MasterPass is a shortcut to shopping on J.Crew online.  J.Crew now joins more than 20,000 merchants in select markets around the world using MasterPass to streamline and simplify the payment phase of the shopping experience for consumers.

According to MasterCard, e-commerce continues to show strong momentum with 15% year-over-year growth for 2013. In addition, e-Commerce now accounts for about 20% of all apparel sales.  

This boost in e-commerce sales is being driven by consumers’ increasing adoption of tablets and other mobile devices, and reliance on them for making online purchases, and by retailers’ investments in better mobile sites and applications to streamline the shopping experience.

MasterPass not only simplifies the shopper experience by providing a consistent way to accept electronic payments regardless of where the consumer may be, but helps foster customer loyalty and increase transactions by capturing consumers that “abandon the shopping cart” when asked to enter their payment and shipping details online.

"MasterPass eliminates this by providing shoppers with a faster, easier online checkout enhancing their shopping experience and leaving them more time to enjoy the things that matter most."

Cardholders can sign up by clicking on the "Buy with MasterPass" button when checking out at jcrew.com. As MasterPass continues to evolve, J.Crew online customers will be provided with additional tools and engagement mechanisms to further enhance their shopping experience.
